Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026
This policy explains what MakerHunt collects to run a daily product hunt. Operator: KLJr. Contact support@makerhunt.space.
What we collect
- Account: email, display name, optional photo, optional username and bio, auth provider (Google or magic link).
- Listings: product name, URLs, description, categories, cover/logo, launch schedule, crawl status, paid entitlements.
- Engagement: upvotes, comments (markdown), comment upvotes, reports.
- Billing: Stripe customer and subscription IDs, checkout metadata (no full card numbers on our servers).
- Technical: IP used for rate limiting and security logs, standard request metadata.
Where it lives
Auth and Firestore use the shared Firebase project maker-wall (also used by MakerWall). Stripe processes payments. Resend sends transactional email (magic link / resets). Hosting is on Vercel when deployed. Aggregate page views use Vercel Web Analytics (cookieless).
How we use it
- Operate launches, rankings, comments, and dashboards
- Crawl free badges and process paid launch entitlements
- Prevent abuse (rate limits, CSRF, report queue)
- Send auth email you request
We do not sell personal data. We do not run third-party ad trackers by default. See Cookies.
Public by design
Product pages, maker profiles (when you claim a username), comments, and launch ranks are public. Do not put secrets in listings or comments.
Retention and requests
Account and listing data stay while your account and listings remain active. Email support@makerhunt.space to request access, correction, or deletion. We may retain security logs for a limited period.
